What Should a Five-Page Business Website Include?

By SiteCare360

Five pages can give a small service business a clear starting point. The right page selection depends on what visitors need to know before they contact you.

Start with the questions your customers ask

Before choosing page names, list your main services, the customers you serve, and the information they need before making an inquiry. A solo consultant and a roofing company may both need five pages, but the content and emphasis will differ.

A practical starting structure

  • Home: Explain what you do, who you help, and how to contact you.
  • Services: Describe your main offerings, what they include, and who they suit.
  • About: Introduce the people behind the business and relevant experience.
  • Work or helpful information: Show real projects, answer common questions, or explain your process.
  • Contact: Provide contact options, hours, and location or service-area information where relevant.

This is a starting point, not a mandatory template. A photographer may prioritize a portfolio. A law firm may prioritize attorney profiles. A contractor may need separate pages for two important services instead of a standalone About page.

Give each page a clear job

A service page should help someone decide whether you handle their need. Explain the work, the next step, and any information they should prepare. Photos of real work can add useful context when you have permission to publish them.

Keep contact options visible throughout the site. Someone ready to ask about an estimate should not have to read every page first. On mobile, check that links are easy to tap and the important details remain readable.

Prepare content before development

Gather your service list, business description, approved photos, contact details, and answers to recurring customer questions. Identify missing material early and agree on who will supply it. Do not add testimonials, credentials, or results you cannot substantiate.

Leave room to grow

Start with pages you can make genuinely useful. Add a separate service page when customers need more detail, rather than splitting a short description across several nearly identical pages. Confirm whether any required policy pages count toward the agreed project scope.
