How Much Does a Small Business Website Cost?

By SiteCare360

A useful website budget covers both getting your site online and keeping it working afterward. Compare the full scope and commitment, rather than the first price you see.

Separate the build from ongoing care

The initial website work usually involves planning the pages, preparing content, creating the layout, and launching the site. Ongoing work can include hosting, maintenance, backups, and content updates. When comparing quotes, ask which of these tasks are included and who handles the rest.

A lower initial price can suit a simple project, but it does not tell you the total cost. A quote that includes ongoing care covers a different scope from a website delivered for you to manage yourself.

A concrete example: SiteCare360

Our Business Website plan has a $795 one-time setup fee and a $99 monthly service fee, with an initial 12-month commitment. The setup fee plus twelve monthly payments totals $1,983, before separately billed purchases, add-ons, and any applicable taxes. Your service agreement specifies when billing begins.

The plan includes up to five standard pages, mobile-friendly design, foundational search and AI visibility setup, hosting and SSL, maintenance, backups, monitoring, and up to three minor change requests per month. Domain purchase is billed separately, with setup included.

Check what can change the price

Additional pages, larger galleries, booking integrations, and custom features can expand a project. Paid third-party subscriptions may also create ongoing costs. Write down the features you need before asking for a quote, and distinguish an ordinary link to an existing tool from a custom integration.

For example, a salon linking to an existing booking service has a different project scope from a salon asking for a new scheduling system. An informational property website is also different from a searchable database of live listings.

Ask these questions before choosing

  • How many pages and images are included?
  • Who writes and approves the content?
  • What updates are included after launch?
  • Are the domain, hosting, and third-party tools included?
  • What are the commitment, cancellation, and handover terms?

Choose a service whose responsibilities and total commitment you understand. Review our Business Website pricing and inclusions, or use the five-page planning guide to define your starting scope.
